Intumescent Pack - 1000 / 5000 Series - FD60

Simplex PBL & EPBLs latches are currently in the process of being tested to EN 12209 allowing them to be CE Marked. Until such time as this is completed, they are not to be used on fire doors.

The use of this intumescent kit provides fire protection for the Simplex 1000, L1000 & 5000 series locks in accordance with BS EN 1634-1: 2014 for 30 minutes and has been made available for sale specifically to those with products installed without the official intumescent kit.

Fire testing was carried out using a Halspan Prima, 54mm wooden door, with the base of the lock installed 1000mm from the base of the door. Installations on doors of a lower specification or a different material than the above will require separate testing by the specifier/installer.

The fitting of intumescent material must be carried out in accordance with the fitting instructions provided with the pack.

It remains the responsibility of the specifier and installer to ensure all hardware products for use on fire doors are installed in line with the parameters to which they were tested and that they meet the required standards applicable to the entire door set. Installation must be carried out by a competent professional, holding appropriate 3rd party certification for such works.
